A 26-year-old suspect in the murder of former Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) student Nur Farah Kartini Abdullah was brought to the crime scene at an oil palm plantation in Kampung Sri Kledang on Tuesday (July 16).

The suspect, dressed in an orange lock-up uniform, was accompanied by officers from the Criminal Investigation Department of the Hulu Selangor district police headquarters.

His presence at the site was reportedly to assist with the investigation at the location where the body of Nur Farah Kartini, 25, was discovered.

It was previously reported that the suspect, who is also a police officer stationed in Perak, was remanded for seven days from Tuesday to be investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

Perak police chief Datuk Azizi Mat Aris said the suspect is a lance corporal attached to the Slim River police station.

“He has been serving at that police station for five years,” he told reporters.

“During the investigation, (the suspect) showed where the offence was committed,” he added.

Nur Farah Kartini, who hails from Miri, Sarawak, was an employee of a rental car company in Tanjung Malim and was reported missing after delivering a rental car to a customer on Wednesday (July 10).
