With 75 percent of eligible voters still yet to have their turn at the ballot box, it is too early to call a winner.

Throughout the weekend, Rafizi had managed to narrow the gap between him and Azmin by securing small margins in Kelantan, Pahang and the Federal Territories.

Rafizi won the Federal Territories’ leg by a margin of 141 votes, garnering 2,935 votes against Azmin’s 2,794.

Besides Kelantan and Pahang, he captured Terengganu with a significant margin while Azmin was declared the victor of the Penang and Johor rounds.

Before Sunday’s results, the incumbent Azmin was leading the competition by a razor-thin 92 votes against Rafizi, a current vice-president.

Rafizi’s total tally of votes is now at 19,160 votes, while Azmin has 19,112 votes.

As for the vice-presidency race, the front runners, in order of number of votes garnered, are Nurul Izzah Anwar, Zuraida Kamaruddin, Tian Chua and Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin.

There are 10 candidates for the vice-president posts but only the top four will be elected.

The PKR elections will continue over the next five weekends until Nov 10.

Melaka, Negri Sembilan, Perlis, Kedah, Perak and Selangor will e-vote this month. Sabah and Sarawak will follow suit in November.

If the race goes down to the wire, Selangor, which has the highest number of PKR voters, may decide who becomes the next deputy president.

The official results will be announced at the PKR national congress in mid-November.
