Farhash had denied any links to the attack on Rafizi’s son.
Former economy minister Rafizi Ramli has confirmed receiving a letter of demand from Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s former aide, Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak, but said he will not back down and is ready to defend himself in court.
“I confirm receiving a letter on Aug 22 from law firm Ahmad Deniel, Ruben & Co, representing Farhash. The cease and desist letter demands I refrain from making any more statements (about Farhash) and tender an apology over a statement I made about a whistleblower I met, where it was about a business deal linked to Farhash,” Rafizi said today.

The Pandan MP maintained his statement was factual, adding that he had engaged law firm Gan, Ho & Razlan Hadri to act on the matter.
“In my view, if Farhash takes me to court, it will become a matter of public interest, which would allow my counsel to ask questions that have been brought up by many quarters earlier,” he added.
On Aug 20, Rafizi revealed that his meeting with a whistleblower, held just before his 12-year-old son was attacked on Aug 13, centred on Farhash. He suggested the assault, where his son was stabbed with a syringe at a Putrajaya mall car park, may have been directly linked to that meeting.
He gave further details after some quarters attempted to link the attack to former prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob and former health minister Khairy Jamaluddin, alleging he was investigating cases involving them. Rafizi dismissed this as a “malicious attempt to divert attention”.
Farhash has denied any involvement in the attack on Rafizi’s son.
