Robbed a second time in just over three months.

Three masked robbers escaped with RM720,000 worth of jewellery in a heist at a goldsmith shop located at the Giant Kota Damansara shopping complex.

The trio stormed into the goldsmith outlet at 11.47am on Thursday with one of them armed with a .38 revolver.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zani Che Din said the assailant, who was armed with the pistol, disarmed a security guard and snatched his pump gun.

“The other two suspects grabbed eight trays of jewellery worth RM720,000 before all three of them fled the scene.

“They tossed the pump gun at the hypermarket’s parking lot before escaping in a white Perodua Myvi bearing the registration number VA 8247,” he said.

He added that the registration number of the getaway car driven by a fourth accomplice was fake.

It was reported that staff and customers scurried out of the store on seeing the robbers who wore ski masks, caps and gloves.

The robbers calmly ransacked and cleared the drawers of jewellery, taking slightly more than two minutes.

On Nov 1 last year, two parang-wielding men made off with RM1.1 million worth of gold and jewellery from the outlet less than an hour after the store opened for business, before fleeing in a Nissan Almera.
