Threat to the life and office of Leow, the churches and Christians in Malaysia.
A second police report has been lodged against the owner of a Facebook account called Hud Hud Crew for uploading a video that alleges Catholic Archbishop Julian Leow had wanted to cause disharmony between Christians and Muslims.
The Catholic Lawyers’ Society of Kuala Lumpur lodged the report at the Petaling Jaya district police headquarters at noon yesterday, and it came after a report was made by the civil society group, North-South Initiative, on the same day.
Francis Pereira, a past president of the lawyers’ society, in confirming it, said its president, Godfrey Thomas Fernandez, made the report.
Both the groups want the police to carry out investigations against Hud Hud Crew for uploading the video, which contains personal threats against Leow and religious incitement to stir up hostility between various races and religions.
They said the post by Hud Hud Crew, titled Rahsia besar: Rakaman perancangan 25 tahun archbishop Katolik Kuala Lumpur untuk rebus orang Islam seperti merebus katak, is seditious, defamatory and a factual misrepresentation to create tension between the country’s races.
In his report, Fernandez stated that Leow never at any time made any comments against or insulted any religion, as alleged in the video uploaded on the Hud Hud Crew’s Facebook page.

The video, in which Leow could be heard addressing the congregation of St Francis Xavier Church in Petaling Jaya, is believed to have been made in 2014.
Fernandez said police should launch an investigation into comments by the Hud Hud Crew’s owners and followers, which are seditious and laced with threats of inter-racial hostilities.
He said there are also criminal elements, such as the threat to the life and office of Leow, the churches and Christians in Malaysia.
He also said the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission should open an investigation into those who edited, created, wrote and distributed the Hud Hud Crew Facebook content, which he said is “clearly threatening Malaysia’s peace and harmony”.
The post by Hud Hud Crew said Leow was speaking of a 25-year plan against Muslims with the analogy of boiling frogs to describe his plan to pressure Muslims in the country.
They alleged Leow had said that when a frog was thrown into boiling water, it would immediately react and jump out, but when placed in cold water in a pan on top of a fire, the frog would remain quiet while it is being cooked.
In the post, Hud Hud Crew said the video footage was handed to them by a member of the church congregation who did not want to be named. – TMI
