While it was initially believed that police had discovered two bodies in two luggage, latest information obtained says both bags were stuffed with several body parts.
The gory scene came to light when a man, watering plants near the Sungai Gombak riverbank along Jalan Ipoh saw legs dangling out of one luggage.
Acting on the information, police inspected the scene and discovered another bag located about 100 metres from where the first luggage was found.
Police also found a third bag at the riverbank, however, the bag only contained clothes and police confirmed it has no connection to the first two bags.
In the first luggage, police found hands, feet and a head. In the second bag, police found a torso.
Fire and Rescue Department officers were also on the scene to assist the police to carry out the remains at about 2pm.
Deputy Dang Wangi district police chief Supt Rudy Abdullah said police already recorded statements from two men and a woman, believed to be homeless, aged between 20 and 30 to assist in investigations.
“For now, we can’t be certain if the body parts found in both bags belong to one individual.
“We have yet to ascertain the gender or the identity yet,” he said when met at the location, here, today.
Rudy informed that the body parts have been sent to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) for post-mortem.
He advised members of the public who are missing any family members to come forward to any nearby police stations.
“The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder,” he added. – NST
