Siblings Charged with Murder of Sister’s Blind Husband

Two siblings have been charged at the Magistrate’s Court with the murder of the woman’s blind husband in a gory plot said to be over the victim’s assets.

GS Angela Dewi, who operates an eatery, and her brother GS Vijaya, 42, were jointly charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code over the death of 59-year-old R Devarajoo.

They allegedly committed the offence between 12pm and 1pm at a PKNS low-cost housing area in Kg Baru Sungai Chua, on Oct 1.

The siblings, who were unrepresented, face a mandatory death sentence upon conviction.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Muhammad Hairuliqram Hairuddin appeared for the prosecution.

No plea was recorded.

Magistrate Muhammad Noor Firdaus Rosli fixed Dec 21 for mention.

It was reported that the police received a report of a house break-in in Kampung Baru Sungai Chua on Oct 1.

It was said that the “assailant” hit the victim on the head with a hammer during the heist, which resulted in severe injuries.

Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zaid Hassan said the victim, who owned a transportation business, succumbed to his injury and died at the hospital on Oct 10.

He said investigations revealed that the murder was over the victim’s assets. – The Star
