Another case of gang rape in school.

The Kedah State Education Department has launched an internal investigation and vowed to take stern disciplinary action, including expulsion, against students involved in a rape case and the circulation of obscene videos at a school in Baling.

In an official statement, the department expressed deep concern over the incident.
“The department has begun taking action. The case is currently under police investigation, and all suspects have been remanded. We are fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation,” it said.

“Immediate steps have also been taken to provide assistance to the victim. Our primary focus is to ensure the victim’s well-being is given utmost attention,” the statement added.

The department reiterated that the Ministry of Education (MOE) has zero tolerance for sexual misconduct in schools and is strengthening measures to safeguard the safety and welfare of students and staff.

Earlier today, police detained four individuals, including three male students from the Baling school, for suspected involvement in the rape of a minor.

Baling district acting police chief Ahmad Salimi Mat Ali said a 53-year-old man lodged a report on Sunday after being informed by a teacher that an explicit video of his daughter was being circulated.

Harian Metro reported that the four teenagers—one of whom is a former student—were arrested on suspicion of gang rape and distributing child sexual abuse material.

Investigations revealed that the suspects had allegedly assaulted the victim multiple times at the school between May and August. The four were remanded for five days starting Sunday, and six mobile phones were seized.

The case follows another shocking incident last week involving the gang rape of a student in Malacca. The 17-year-old suspects in that case were charged in court today.
