No plea was recorded from Goh, who looked emotionless.

The court fixed Sept 3 for mention.

The three-year-old was reported to have 59 stab wounds on several parts of her body.

The post-mortem showed that the child had been stabbed thrice in the heart and lungs, and 56 times on other parts of her body.

Sentul district police chief R Munusamy said Goh was believed to be under the influence of drugs when he committed the murder.

Earlier, Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim said the suspect was in the midst of inserting syabu powder into a straw while holding a pair of scissors when he was interrupted by the child.

Furious with the child for the interruption, flew into a rage and used the scissors to stab the child many times.

“Our investigation found that the suspect was a drug dealer but he was tested negative for drugs,” Mazlan said.
