A magistrate in Sungai Petani has remanded for another week a suspect accused of molesting a child at a funfair which was captured on a video that went viral.
The man in his 40s arrived at the courthouse with a swollen right eye and head wounds still visible.
Walking barefooted, he was clad in the same yellow T-shirt and blue beach pants as when he was first remanded last Wednesday.
It is believed that the suspect sustained the head injuries before his arrest last Tuesday.
Police detained the suspect following a viral video that allegedly showed him caressing a young girl’s chest under her dress and kissing her in front of a crowd at the funfair.
He was heard repeatedly asking the police officer accompanying him why he was being held for such a long time.
