The family of TV3 newscaster Raymond Goh thanked all fellow Malaysians for their concerns and prayers for his speedy recovery.
His wife Faridah Teh in a statement today said Goh was admitted to a hospital in Petaling Jaya on Wednesday after he suffered a stroke.
She said at present, his condition was critical and hoped that the family would be given some respect and privacy as they overcome these difficult times.
“For now, the family kindly requests understanding, patience and respect for their need for privacy as they navigate this challenging period.
“Any support in thoughts and prayers are deeply appreciated,” she wrote.
Goh, known as “the man with the golden voice” has been involved in the broadcasting industry for 30 years.
Teh also expressed the family’s heartfelt gratitude to Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah for the Majesties’ concern regarding his well-being.
“The family understands that Goh’s well-being has been of concern for many and deeply appreciate the outpouring of love and support,” she said, adding that the family understands that in his journey, he has touched many hearts.
Teh said the family will provide relevant updates about his condition as and when possible. – NST
