Youth Killed When Flung Out of Car, Run Over by Multiple Vehicles on NSE

A young man was killed today when he was flung out of the car he was travelling in and landed in the opposite lane, where he was run over by multiple oncoming vehicles.

The remains of Chee Hook Long, 21, were found badly mutilated and spread across the scene of the incident at Km413 of the North-South Expressway (NSE) near the Lembah Beringin toll plaza.

Four other passengers in the Honda Civic – aged between 12 and 44 ­- were injured and rushed to the Sungai Buloh Hospital for treatment.

The driver, who was the only one to escape unharmed, was taken to the Hulu Selangor district police headquarters for a urine and blood test.

It is understood that Chee was travelling with his five friends from Negri Sembilan to Ipoh when the accident occurred at 2.40am.

“The 21-year-old driver lost control of the wheel and crashed into a drain on the left (side of the road).

“The impact caused Chee, who was sitting in the back, to be flung out of the rear window.

“(After being run over by several vehicles), his body was unidentifiable,” Hulu Selangor district police chief Superintendent Lim Bhak Pai said today.

He added that the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless driving. – NST
