Foes Become Allies, While Allies Turn Against Each Other

Looks like the Malaysian political game of thrones has taken a sudden twist.

Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has seemingly buried the hatchet with long-time rival, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, while Bersatu members have turned rogue.

Did greed or the quest for power turn Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin against Dr Mahathir, causing Bersatu to divide or was it some other motive?

Why does Muhyiddin so badly want to work with the corrupt Umno when this was what Pakatan Harapan had opposed from day one?

Hopefully, by weeding out the undesirables, Dr Mahathir and Anwar can work together to realise the hopes and aspirations of the rakyat.

Perhaps now with the transition finally falling into place, PH can realise its true potential without any more distractions.

For many, they are of the opinion that Anwar should have sacked Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali and Zuraida Kamaruddin a long time ago.

These two have been thorns in the side of PKR and from within created plenty of problems.

Since the original semburit video surfaced, it has been a fight for survival for Azmin.

He did all he could do survive politically, even if it meant sleeping with the enemy.

After all, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s list of corrupt offences are over a mile long, yet Azmin was willing to play ball with him.

Sadly, there were those willing to do anything for personal gains and this was at the expense of the rakyat.

Imagine the betrayal the rakyat would have felt if Zahid and gang were to come back into the picture.

These are the exact individuals we voted out two years ago and suddenly they make a rear exit back – back to continue the plumage they left behind.

Hats off to Dr Mahathir for doing the honourable thing and to Anwar for being so patient and tolerant.

Azmin and Zuraida were simply too impatient and power-crazy, and this destroyed PKR from within.

The rakyat now look forward to better days and a smooth transition between Dr Mahathir and Anwar and a stronger, focused Cabinet.

As for Azmin, perhaps it is time the Attorney-General orders a re-look at the semburit case and gets to the bottom of it.
