Our dream is still far

Since the days of the Reformasi movement, it has always been my and also my family’s dream that one day, Pakatan Harapan under Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s leadership will be the government of the day.

Our dreams came true in 2018 but were quickly shattered following the Sheraton Move.

One would have thought that following this move, PH leaders would have learnt their lesson and been more careful and tactful this time around, having been given a second chance.

However, sorry to say, nothing much has changed and they seem to be once again digging their own graves.

Within just such a short period, their Human Resources Minister is already embroiled in such a mess and for us voters, he should be replaced.

Then we have the likes of other Ministers who to us, voters are non-performers and till today are clueless about what is going on.

These include our Health and Education Ministers – two important portfolios which are sadly terribly underperforming or not performing at all.

Also, it is disheartening to see Anwar going back on his promises, especially in regard to vote-buying.

He had hit out hard at others for their alleged vote buying and pledged that he would never do it to gain favour.

However, everyone knows just how crucial the upcoming six-state elections are and that they could well spell the downfall of PH.

With this in mind, Anwar is going in with guns blazing and doing exactly what he said he would not do.

For example, the promises he made to voters in Kedah, Penang and Negri Sembilan recently with regard to the Penang LRT project and the budget for the other two states.

Is this not vote-buying? Something he said he would stay away from.

Voters like me and my family had lots of hope and were looking forward to a cleaner, better Malaysia, but sadly, this remains a dream.

For us, normal citizens in Malaysia, the unity government has done nothing to alleviate our suffering and we still continue to dream of a better tomorrow.
