When Dreams Began Fading

I am no political expert, but from a layman’s point of view, the only thing I can gather from the current political scenario is that Umno is getting stronger day by day.

While Pakatan Harapan (PH), along with Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad are engaged in their own political agendas, Umno is rebuilding itself and would probably come in much stronger for the next polls.

The issue of when Tun Mahathir is going to hand over power to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim seems to be the primary concern now for PH.

And to top all this off, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, the man with the most corruption charges against him has suddenly re-emerged, declaring himself as the Umno president.

I guess this is only possible in Malaysia Boleh-land.

One wonders why Zahid has suddenly risen from the ashes. Is there more to it and does he play any significant role in the current PH powerplay? Is there some serious power-brokering going on behind closed doors involving Umno factions from both Datuk Seri Najib Razak and Zahid’s corners?

As a man on the street fighting for survival, at this point, I could no longer care who runs the country – as long as we, the lay people are taken care of.

I had great dreams, like many others when PH won the last general election, but sadly, day by day, my dreams began fading.

Today, I wonder why certain leaders made a comeback. Was it to save the nation or to push through their own political agendas?

Promises were made and the people voted based on those promises. However, today, certain leaders seem rather hesitant to keep their promises.

It is obvious from political blogs and chat groups that the people are absolutely fed up with what is going on right now.

From the latest gay porn videos to how the matter is being handled, the vast distinction from when Anwar was subjected to the same fate years ago and how a certain Minister is being protected at all costs.

For now, the rakyat can only watch and shake their heads in disbelief, but I am pretty sure they are going to show their dissatisfaction come the next general election.

The leaders involved in this powerplay should realise that all they are doing right now in defending a certain someone and trying to stop another is simply handing victory to BN in the next polls.

Barisan leaders have remained silent throughout the fiasco and are merely munching popcorn while Harapan leaders destroy themselves.
