Folks here can now use a free bus shuttle service to get to several places, including the wet market and hospital, says Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminudin Harun.
The bus service will start at 5.45am daily, with a trip frequency of every 30 minutes during peak hours and ends at 8.45pm.
There will be one service every hour during off-peak period.
“We have set aside RM300,000 for this free bus service, and it is our hope that the people would use it.
“This is one of the measures taken by my administration to reduce the cost of living, as well as to reduce traffic congestion in the town centre,” he told reporters at the launch on Friday (March 22).
The service, which starts Saturday (March 23), is being provided jointly with Cityliner Sdn Bhd.
It will start at the KM Plaza in Jalan Tuanku Munawir and run through the Seremban (North) Post office, wet market, Jalan Tun Dr Ismail, Wisma Negri, Jalan Yam Tuan, EPF office along Jalan Za’aba, Jalan Rasah, Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital, Jalan Tuanku Antah and KTM Seremban.
He said the natural gas-powered bus was also disabled-friendly and those using the wheelchair will also be able to board it.
The bus can accommodate 65 passengers at any one time.
“We will also conduct a study to see how many people are using the service.
“From there, we will be able to gauge if we need to expand it to other areas such as Seremban 2, where several government departments and agencies are located,” he added. – The Star
