His Majesty decreed that he was proud and impressed with the charity work done by Sabariah who now lives in Montreal, Canada.

“She is a fine example of an Islam individual with noble personality where she willingly cooks and provides food for hundreds of the less unfortunate, including the homeless, on a daily basis, without taking into consideration their religious, race or background.

“Her efforts and noble values should be honoured and exemplified,” His Majesty said in a post on the Royal Johor Facebook page on Thursday.

More than 30 years ago, Sabariah completed her culinary studies in Kuala Lumpur.

She migrated to Canada after marrying a Canadian.

For more than 20 years, she has been actively involved in charity by helping the homeless and the less fortunate in Canada.

She also founded the Sister Sabria Foundation and a women’s protection centre called ‘Our Second Home’.
