Pakatan Harapan (PH) said today a former boss of national oil and gas giant Petronas and a Hong Kong-based tycoon are among several personalities who have agreed to help it implement fiscal reforms should it win the polls tomorrow.

In a statement, the PH presidential council said several “respected, eminent and patriotic” Malaysians will be invited to contribute in the administration led by its chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

“Some have already agreed to be part of this endeavour, including experienced captains of the industry, a former President of Petronas, a successful Hong Kong-based tycoon, respected former senior civil servants and economists,” the statement said.

The statement was co-signed by Dr Mahathir, PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng and Parti Amanah Negara president Mohamad Sabu.

“They will provide guidance for the formulation and execution of the reform plan,” they said.

The statement, however, did not disclose the names of the personalities.

“The time for a progressive change, not a witch hunt of retribution, is long overdue,” it said, claiming that policies since 2009 had set the country back.

PH said that it would evaluate the federal government’s liabilities and revenue in depth in the first 100 days before coming up with a responsible fiscal plan. – Malay Mail
