Dr Mahathir Mohamad has slammed those behind the distribution of an edited audio clip in which he allegedly agreed to Bersatu leaving Pakatan Harapan.
The party chairman challenged them to release the full recording of a supreme council meeting in late February.
“Someone with bad intentions has spread the audio clip, which is clearly edited.
“I challenge them to release the full recording of the supreme council meeting,” he said in a statement posted on social media today.
He stressed that he will remain on the side of those who fought alongside him leading up to the 2018 general election, referring to PH parties.
“I remain loyal with my friends who fought with me before the 14th general election.
“If it were true that I wish to betray the people’s mandate, I could have done it before when Perikatan Nasional named me as their prime minister candidate.
“Instead, I rejected it. In bad times and good, we are together,” he said.
