Seated at the front are V Sithambaram and other deputy public prosecutors, as well as lead counsel Muhammad Shafee Abdullah and other members of the defence.

Lawyer Syed Iskandar Syed Jaafar al Mahdzar, who is holding a watching brief for the Bar Council, is also present, as is former Pahang menteri besar Adnan Yaakob.

10.49am: Court is in session.

10.51am: Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission investigating officer Rosli Hussain takes the stand.

The 57th prosecution witness is now in the special operations division of MACC. In this case, Rosli was the investigating officer. He was commissioned to the case in July 2015.

10.56am: Rosli says in the course of his investigations, there were more than1,000 documents he had to sift through as evidence.

The documents were from banking and financial institutions, Finance Ministry, SRC International, Ihsan Perdana Sdn Bhd and Gandingan Mentari Sdn Bhd.

He was assisted by other officers in the forensics accounts department of MACC, among others.

Rosli testifies that the probe was launched following a report lodged by officer Prem Raj from the MACC Accounting Forensics Division on July 3, 2015.

The probe was carried out under provisions in the MACC Act 2009, Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001, and the Penal Code.

11.05am: The court hears from Rosli that since the commission launched the investigation into SRC in 2015, five of his witnesses have died.

He named them as Azlin Alias, Noriyah Ahmad, Zainal Abidin Osman, Ahmad Norhisham Hassan, and Izzad Izzairi Osman.

11.10am: Rosli says on July 6, 2015, Prem Raj had met with him to hand him the documents involved in the case. He handed over two SRC’s secretarial books and one from its investment arm Gandingan Mentari.

The books contained appointment letters and minutes of meetings, among other things.

Former Pahang menteri besar Adnan Yaakob has left after appearing briefly in the court.

11.29am: Rosli says that SRC chairman Ismee Ismail had brought to his interview with MACC the minutes of a 2013 meeting which he had kept in his car.

Rosli says he did not sign the minutes and that MACC does not have the minutes which Ismee had handed over.

11.35am: Rosli tells the court that investigators received minutes for three SRC board of directors meetings in 2015 from Ismee on July 18 last year.

They, however, could not get the original copies of the documents as Ismee did not keep them. Attempts to get it from SRC’s company secretary Chee Suwen was also futile as she was no longer serving the company and had handed over all the documents back to the company.

Rosli testifies that checks on the photocopies of the documents revealed that meeting minutes were recorded by then SRC director, Terence Geh.

“But because Terence Geh has run away and cannot be located, I could not get the original copies (from him),” says the witness.

MACC checks at the company’s premises also could not locate the original documents.

11.53am: Court breaks at Sithambaram’s request to confer with the witness.

12.09pm: Court resumes with Rosli identifying SRC documents.

12.20pm: The court hears from Rosli that investigators for the SRC case could not get the original meeting minutes between the company’s former CEO Nik Faisal Ariff Kamil and then prime minister Najib Abdul Razak, which purportedly took place on Sept 7, 2011.

He says this was the case as the original minutes was not among the documents contained in the company secretary’s books seized by MACC, while they could not refer the document to Nik Faisal as he had absconded overseas.

For the record, the meeting minutes between Najib and Nik Faisal was incorporated into in the minutes of an SRC board of directors meeting on Sept 13, 2011.

12.28pm: Court adjourns for lunch.

3.10pm: Hearing resumes with prosecution recalling 46th prosecution witness, Shuzairizman Shuib, who is Bank Negara digital forensics analyst.

3.11pm: He is verifying BlackBerry chats that he personally extracted from Yu’s mobile device. The chat logs were newly recovered by Shuzairizman.

3.19pm: Harvinderjit begins his cross-examination of Shuzairizman.

During the brief testimony and under questioning from DPP Mohd Ashrof Asrin Kamarul and Harvinderjit, Shuzairizman confirms the records of chat logs extracted from electronic devices seized from a Bank Negara raid on AmBank Jalan Raja Chulan branch on July 6, 2015.

3.38pm: The witness is let go from the stand.

3.39pm: MACC’s Rosli takes the stand again.

3.44pm: Rosli says he tried to get the original documents given by Ihsan Perdana. When given the books, MACC officers did not know whether they were original or copies.

He details how he obtained documents from KWAP regarding the RM4 billion loan given to SRC.

4.30pm: The proceedings continue to see Rosli identifying bundles of documents that were seized by the commission in the course of their probe into SRC in 2015.

During this, the court hears that some of the documents that MACC investigators acquired from KWAP were only copies of the original.

Rosli testifies that in these cases, he had instructed his officers to get the original from KWAP, but were told that KWAP only kept the copies of the documents.

However, the witness and DPP Ishak Yusoff did not mention specifically what these documents are during the examination-in-chief.

4.51pm: Rosli received salary slips for former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak on Jan 29 in the probe into SRC.

Rosli says he received the documents from Nordiana Ashar, of the Parliamentary Unit.

The salary slips are for the years 2011 to 2018.

5.08pm: Sithambaram tells judge Nazlan that the prosecution seeks to withdraw its application on Najib’s Facebook postings about the case.

Sithambaram adds he was advised to do so.

Shafee says that he is happy with the withdrawal application.

Nazlan says that posting evidence borders on contempt of court and advises that in the future, anyone intent on making such postings should seek legal counsel.

5.11pm: Court is adjourned. It will resume at 2pm on Tuesday.
