Police report lodged on attempt to transfer extensive collection of exclusive handbags to KL condo.
The treasurer and two executive committee members of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia
(PPBM) Youth wing today claimed to have received information and a video clip showing about 50 Birkin handbags being transported to several condominium units at the Pavillion Residence KL.
The handbags were moved by two men and a woman in a government-owned Toyota Hiace van.
In statement issued today, they stated that the price of each handbag was estimated to be at RM200,000 and above, with each box (containing the handbags) having a tag with the name of the person who gave the handbag (as a gift) and the recipient’s name, believed to be Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.
The statement further said considering the allegations that Najib and his wife were allegedly involved in a massive money laundering scandal, PPBM Youth called on the relevant authorities to carry out raids on the condominium units.
“The van was seen to have the logo of the Prime Minister’s Department (JPM) and Jata Negara Malaysia. If it is true that the van belongs to JPM, this is an abuse of power,” it said.
The statement was issued by PPBM Youth treasurer Rafiq Hakim Razali and executive council members Ben Ali and Azizi Sulaiman.
It added that a police report to the effect was lodged at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters.
Dang Wangi district police chief ACP Shaharudin Abdullah confirmed receiving the report.
Rosmah is rumoured to own a large collection of Birkin handbags.
She has been photographed carrying different Birkins in the past which led to raised eyebrows and speculation over the former first couple’s wealth.
