A Facebook post of a man sharing he is ready to “harvest” (have sex) a 14-year-old boy has irked netizens.

The post which was believed to have been uploaded last week, attached with a photo, read: “Dapat emergency call dari budak ini. Minta balik Kuantan cepat. Maybe dia yakin dah boleh dituai kot. Yeahh, tunggu abang.” (I received an emergency call from this boy. He wants to go back to Kuantan immediately. Probably he is ready to have sex. Just wait for me)

This triggered a non-governmental organisation to lodge a police report at Sri Damansara police station on Sunday.

Komuniti Harapan Kita chairman Fazriysham Kamran, 35, said he read the status via his follower on Facebook at his house in Sri Damansara about 10am.

He said the post was suspicious as it was shared on Facebook ‘Group Anak Ikan’ page which was believed to be a gay page.

“There is an indecent element in the status. The word ‘harvest’ implies sexual relationship. It is an offence to have sex with a 14-year-old.

“The man might be a paedophile as he shows interest to have sex with a minor. Hence, I made a police report so that action can be taken against him,” he said.

Fazriysham said checks showed that the status had been deleted and his account deactivated.

Meanwhile, Petaling Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zani Che Din when contacted confirmed police had received the report.

Zani said an investigation was being conducted under Section 11(1)(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017. – NST
