Social media abuzz with news that a popular actress was taken in by the police in connection with drug possession.
A photo allegedly of actress Uqasha Senrose, said to be taken in a police station, went viral on Sunday.
This triggered a barrage of questions from Malaysians on the 25-year-old artiste’s Instagram.
Some fans also expressed their disappointment.
Uqasha has reportedly shut down the comments section of her Instagram account after about 1,000 comments had been posted.
News portal mStar reported that a police source said the actress, who is from Kelantan, was believed to have been involved in an accident with a car driven by a man.
The Star had earlier reported of a celebrity who was detained for drug possession.
According to city police chief Comm Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim, Uqasha was granted police bail.
He added she was detained at Jalan Burhanuddin Helmi, Taman Tun Dr Ismail, at 11.45am and the police seized 53 Eramin 5 pills which were found in her handbag.
Mazlan said a urine test came back negative, and that the drugs were worth around RM660.
The artiste, whose full name is Nik Zaris Uqasha Nik Sen, was reportedly arrested by the police in an alleged intoxicated state.
However, she denied today that she was intoxicated.
She also declined to elaborate further on the incident, which she claimed could have been a sabotage, the New Straits Times reported.

“I’m okay. There are some people out there who want to set me up. What a test!” she was quoted saying.
The case, which is being investigated under Section 12 (2) Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for drug possession, would be referred to the Attorney-General’s Chambers for the next course of action.
