The government has extended Attorney-General Idrus Harun’s contract for one year until March 6 next year.

Chief Secretary to the Government Zuki Ali said in a statement the Yang di-Pertuan Agong had consented to the extension.
Idrus’ contract expired on March 5.
The 67-year-old former Federal Court judge was appointed attorney-general on a two-year contract on March 6, 2020.
This appointment came just days after Muhyiddin Yassin took office as prime minister following the fall of the Pakatan Harapan government.
Idrus replaced Tommy Thomas, who had stepped down following Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s resignation in February 2020. – TMI
