The SPM examination was scheduled on January 6 to February 6, 2021.

This is the second time the SPM exam was postponed.

It was to have been held from November 16 to December 7 but was postponed following the country’s first lockdown in March.

With Malaysia in the throes of a third wave of the pandemic, the exams have been rescheduled again.

Besides SPM, STPM and SVM, the ministry also postponed the Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) examination.

The SVM and STAM exams will also start on February 22.

A total of 400,445 pupils have registered for the SPM examination for 2020, STPM semester 1 or lower 6 examination (5,956) and semester 3 or upper 6 examination (47,008).

To allow pupils adequate preparation time, they may return to school for face-to-face sessions from January 20, 2021.

As for trial examinations, coursework and assessments, Radzi said the ministry would reschedule all these.

The provisions apply to private schools and any institution registered with the ministry.

Schools not registered with the ministry are also advised to follow the ruling. – TMI
