Having been dropped as a candidate by Barisan Nasional, Tan Sri Annuar Musa is strongly rumoured to seek to stand under a Perikatan Nasional (PN) ticket in the upcoming 15th General Election.
Sources said the 57-year-old incumbent Ketereh MP is expected to contest in one of the 14 Parliamentary constituencies in Kelantan.
The sources said Annuar’s candidacy would be announced tomorrow night.
“Kelantan PN is expected to announce Annuar’s name in PN’s line-up in Kota Baru tomorrow night,” said the sources.
Meanwhile, Pas secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan when approached by reporters tonight would only say there would be a surprise tomorrow night.
“Let’s wait for the surprise and who will be on the stage tomorrow,” said the incumbent Kota Baru MP.
Takiyuddin said he sympathised with Annuar who he described as a good friend and a great senior minister.
Annuar in a press conference yesterday said he would only decide on his next move after the candidate announcement by BN leaders last night.
“I will not be disappointed if l’m not fielded for Ketereh. For me, my political career will not end now.
“I will sit down and think properly, without rushing into things. There are a lot of choices. If not one of the government coalition parties, there are also other political parties out there,” he said. – NST
