The first Unity Government secretariat meeting at Menara Dato Onn was meant for the founding parties forming the government, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The explanation from the Prime Minister came after the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) expressed disappointment that the party was not invited to attend the meeting.

Anwar assured that all parties would be roped in later.

“The first meeting is for founding parties of the Unity Government.

“The rest of the parties that support the Unity Government will be invited to attend later on,” he told reporters at a programme at Universiti Selangor in Kuala Selangor on Thursday (Feb 9).

Last Friday (Feb 3), history was made when Anwar set foot in Menara Dato Onn to chair the first secretariat meeting, which was attended by all leaders of parties that form the Unity Government.

However, there were no top leaders or party representatives from Muda at the meeting.

Muda said that although its logo was included in the poster, the party was not informed about it. – The Star
