The exodus of recent brands from Malaysian shores continues with the closure of Korean BBQ chain Bulgogi Brothers.
Korean BBQ chain Bulgogi Brothers announced the complete closure of its local operations yesterday.
In a short post on its Facebook page, the company informed customers that it will “shut (its) grills” at its last remaining outlet at Paradigm Mall in Petaling Jaya.
“All good things must come to an end. We would like to thank all our customers throughout the years for your unwavering support. It’s been an absolute pleasure to serve all of you,” the firm said.
Prior to the announcement, other Bulgogi Brothers Malaysia outlets had quietly closed shop.
The company did not reveal the reason for its closure but patronage at its eateries had visibly declined since its opening five years ago.
The Seoul-based chain, however, continues to operate in its home country as well as in the Philippines and Canada.
Just a couple of days ago, Hong Kong’s Michelin-starred Tim Ho Wan ceased its operations in Malaysia due to heavy losses.
