The federal police have confirmed an ongoing investigation against PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang in connection with his remarks that non-Muslims and non-bumiputra are the causes of corruption in the country.

Bukit Aman corporate communications head Asst Comm Skandaguru Anandan said said the probe was being conducted by the classified criminal investigation (D5) unit based on 28 police reports.

Among those who had lodged a police report against Hadi include the DAP, aside from NGOs urging authorities to take action.

The PAS leader’s comments were roundly criticised by many Malaysians.
