Ten new Covid-19 cases have been reported as of noon today, bringing the total number of infections to 8,616 cases, said Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
In a statement, he said of the 10 cases, four were imported which involved one Malaysian, while three others were non-Malaysians who were either residing in the country or arrived here for business purposes.
Of the six local transmissions, four cases are Malaysians while two cases are non-Malaysians, he said.
“There are currently 187 active Covid-19 infection cases.

“The local transmissions among the Malaysians were detected in Selangor involving one pre-surgery patient and three tahfiz students in Kuala Lumpur.
“Meanwhile, the two local transmissions among the non-Malaysians are one case of an accused person in lock-up in Negri Sembilan and another at a construction site in Sabah,” he said.
Currently, only two Covid-19 cases are being treated at the Intensive Care Unit.
On the number of recoveries, 14 more patients have recovered and discharged from hospitals today.
The total cumulative recovery and discharged cases is 8,308 cases or 96.4%.
No deaths were reported today, and the death toll remained at 121 cases or 1.40%.
