The Health Ministry today recorded 732 new Covid-19 positive cases today, 580 new recoveries and six deaths.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham said 7,827 cases are currently active.
Malaysia has had a cumulative total of 22,957 Covid-19 cases to date.
Dr Noor Hisham said despite the slight drop in cases, Sabah still recorded the highest number of daily cases, at 535 or 73.1% of today’s cases.
This would be the 15th consecutive day Sabah has recorded the highest number of cases, and the state’s total since the onset of the pandemic now stands at 9,281.
Selangor also recorded the second-highest number of new cases today, at 116 or 15.8% of new infections today. The state’s total number of cases is now 3,965.
Dr Noor Hisham said 580 people were discharged from hospital today after being deemed fully recovered from the coronavirus.
Malaysia’s recoveries to date number 14,931 cases, or 65% of all total cases.
Of the active cases, 102 patients are in intensive care units, with 31 of them needing breathing assistance.
The six people who lost their lives to Covid-19 today ranged in age from 27 to 71. They were from Sabah and Labuan.
To date, the total number of fatalities is 199, or 0.87% of all total cases.
