Malaysia today recorded 17,405 new Covid-19 cases with the Klang Valley accounting for more than 57% of infections in the past 24 hours, director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said.
This comes just four days after the country recorded 17,045 new cases, which was then the highest number of infections in a single day.
Of the total today, Selangor recorded the highest number of cases, at 7,171, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 2,880 infections, taking the tally in the Klang Valley to 10,051, or 57% of the cases recorded in the past 24 hours.
Infections were also high in Kedah, at 1,112, Johor (767) and Sabah (913).
Malaysia’s cumulative Covid-19 cases now stand at 1,061,476.
