Samirah Muzaffar, the widow of Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Nazrin Hassan was released from police custody on Thursday (Sept 13).
Her counsel LS Leonard confirmed that she was released at around 9pm after the remand order expired.
“Glad that it has finally come to an end. I am hoping that the family can carry on with their routine from now on,” he was quoted as saying, adding that a police bail was imposed.
Nazrin’s wife was initially remanded for seven days following her arrest on Sept 3. Her former husband, who was also arrested on the same day, was released on Friday while Samirah’s remand was extended until Sept 13.
Her two teenage sons were picked up on Sept 8 in connection with the case and remanded for seven days but the Shah Alam High Court ruled that their detention was not justified and ordered their release on Wednesday (Sept 12).
