Anwar and Daim Dismiss PM conspiracy allegations.

There is no basis to accuse Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad of being involved in a plot to prevent him from becoming the next prime minister, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The PKR president stressed that there were no problems between him and Dr Mahathir.

Kapar MP Abdullah Sani had alleged that Dr Mahathir and Council of Eminent Persons (CEP) chief Tun Daim Zainuddin were among those scheming to stop Anwar from becoming prime minister.

The PKR central executive committee member added that several parties, who had wronged Anwar previously, were again colluding to deny him the prime ministership.

Abdullah Sani made the accusation on Aug 12 in Seremban when campaigning for Rafizi Ramli, who is contesting the deputy president’s post in the PKR polls.

Rafizi is facing off against Datuk Seri Azmin Ali, who is defending his post.

Meanwhile, Daim has laughed off allegations that he was involved in a conspiracy to prevent Anwar from becoming the next prime minister.

He was speaking at a press conference in Menara Ilham after the 100 days mandate of the CEP on Monday.

When asked if he was concerned who will be the next prime minister, Daim said Pakatan Harapan had long decided that it will be Anwar.

“So Anwar will be the next one,” Daim said.
