DAP has chided opposition leader Hamzah Zainuddin for claiming that he has a full set of files on government leaders from the time he was home minister.
Lim Kit Siang and Lim Lip Eng both questioned if Hamzah could keep the files now that he is no longer in office.
Retired lawmaker Lim said Hamzah could have broken the law in doing so.
“Is Hamzah going to turn himself in to the police as he has wilfully retained government files although he is no more home minister,” Lim said in a statement today.
Bersatu secretary-general Hamzah recently revealed that he had built up substantial dossiers on party leaders when he was home minister. He said this while insisting that his party leader, Muhyiddin Yassin, was the subject of “selective prosecution”.
“I used to be the home minister. I think I’ve got a lot of files against them (government leaders) too. (It’s a matter of) whether I want to use them or not,” Hamzah told the English daily.
Lim today asked Hamzah why he had failed to act against Pakatan Harapan MPs if he had proof of wrongdoing.
“If the files which Hamzah has retained in his possession show that the Pakatan Harapan-Umno leaders were guilty of corruption and money-laundering, why was no action taken by the) Perikatan Nasional government?” – TMI
