The DAP congress scheduled for Dec 20 in Shah Alam has been postponed to a date to be determined later, which will be before June 30, 2021.
DAP national organising secretary Anthony Loke Siew Fook said the Registrar of Societies (RoS) had given its approval for the party to postpone its congress till June 30 at the latest.
“However, the nomination process for the election of the central executive committee has been completed and the list of candidates has been finalised.

“DAP would like to thank the RoS and the Home Minister (Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin) for their willingness to consider our application,” he said in a statement today.
The final list carries a total of 88 names.
On Oct 5, DAP sent an appeal letter to the ROS seeking to postpone the party’s congress for at least six months, in view of the high number of new Covid-19 cases.
The congress will involve nearly 4,000 delegates who are required to be physically present for the voting process.
Kuala Lumpur, where the DAP’s national headquarters is located, and Selangor are currently under the government’s conditional movement control order until December 20.
