PKR Youth smells a rat.

The wing is wondering if there was a “plot and political motive” behind the Attorney-General’s Chambers’ decision to withdraw the charges against Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

The wing’s vice-chief Tyra Hanim Razali raised this question based on the developments involving key officials in the AGC prior to the decision.

This included the former attorney-general being on leave pending his retirement and the previous deputy public prosecutor, who successfully established a prima facie case against Zahid, opting for early retirement.

Given the circumstances surrounding the controversial decision to grant the Umno president a discharge not amounting to an acquittal (DNNA), the wing demanded an emergency debate in the upcoming Parliament sitting.

“Time should also be given to the AGC to find new evidence and for Zahid to be charged again immediately if the coalition government doesn’t want to lose its credibility which will make it difficult for the Malaysia Madani administration,” said Tyra.

She also reminded that PKR started as a “struggle” and this spirit should not be extinguished because of the trappings of power. – Malaysiakini
