Former Perak PKR chairman Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak has decided to contest the vice-president’s post in the upcoming party polls instead of the widely speculated deputy’s position.
Farhash said he wanted to give way to PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail to go up against Rafizi Ramli for the deputy president’s post.
“Actually, many in the grassroots asked me to contest the deputy president’s post but as I mentioned before, I wanted to give way to Saifuddin to go for the deputy president’s post against Rafizi.
“I have decided to run for the vice-president’s post, and, Insyallah, we hope to have a clean race. We want to serve the party and the people,” he told reporters after submitting his candidacy at the PKR headquarters in Petaling Jaya today.
Farhash also confirmed he will contest the post of Gombak division chief, currently held by Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari. – TMI
