Pakatan Harapan (PH) will attempt to salvage a billboard linking Barisan Nasional (BN) to corruption by covering up the latter’s name with Pokemon stickers, said state DAP secretary Wong Kah Woh.
The Election Commission (EC) ordered the billboard, which read “BN Rasuah Rakyat Susah (BN’s graft, public’s burden) removed yesterday for violation Section 4 (a) of the Election Offences Act by promoting ill-will and hostility.
“The EC had advised us to remove the billboard as they said that the content is damaging the name of another party.
“However, we will not remove it. Instead, we will cover the word ‘BN’ with the Pokemon character,” he told reporters.
He claimed Malaysia’s decline in the Transparency International’s Corruption Perception Index supported the statement.
When asked why they chose to use a Pokemon character, Wong said it was popular. – Malay Mail
