Perikatan Nasional (PN) has rejected Parti Pejuang Tanahair (Pejuang)’s application to join the coalition.
PN secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin said this was decided during the coalition’s supreme council meeting on March 20, chaired by its chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
Also in attendance were party leaders including Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang, and Gerakan president Datuk Dr Dominic Lau.
In late February, Pejuang said it had applied to join PN as a component party.
Pejuang president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir said the decision was made by the party’s central executive council in a meeting after evaluating all existing political coalitions and cooperation in the country.
