Nik Omar Nik Abdul Aziz took to Facebook yesterday to ask Malaysian Muslims to give Pakatan Harapan (PH) a chance by voting the federal opposition in the 14th general election.

The eldest son of the late PAS spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat had in a live broadcast of a religious lecture after the maghrib prayers told Muslims about the importance of keeping good ties between Muslims, and also with non-Muslims.

Citing the alleged morals of the country’s administration, Nik Omar said Muslims have the opportunity on May 9 to create history.

“In our lives, we are given the opportunity to decide who among us is capable to administer the country towards a better direction.

“There’s no other choice now, except we must unite to enable Pakatan Harapan to ensure the ambitions of Malaysians succeed,” said the cleric.

“Once again, I plead to all voters in Malaysia, regardless of faith, regardless of beliefs and sentiments and understanding, be resolved and give Pakatan Harapan the chance to administer our country towards a better direction,” he added.

The same message was carried by PH president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail’s Facebook page.

Nik Omar had also recited a prayer, asking Allah to grant Malaysians’ request for a leadership that is responsible and has integrity.

“Give us the chance to be led by a government that is capable of administering our country, Malaysia, to a better direction.

“Give us a leadership that is trustworthy, that is sincere, that is honest, leaders that prioritise Malaysians,” he said.

Yesterday, PH component party Parti Amanah Negara announced that Nik Omar is its designated candidate for Kelantan mentri besar if the federal opposition manages to wrest control of Kelantan in GE14.
