Claims don’t hold up.

A total of 13 police reports have been made by the PKR Youth leadership at the state level against the claims by blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin and Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor over an alleged plot to unseat the current government.

In a statement on Facebook, PKR Youth said reports had been lodged by its central leadership as well as state chapters in Selangor, Federal Territories, Johor, Negeri Sembilan, Perak, Penang, Kelantan, Perlis, Terengganu, Kedah, Malacca, and Sabah.

“The purpose of the police report was to investigate the claim by Raja Petra who said that the opposition has garnered 120 statutory declarations (SDs) through the Dubai Move to topple the coalition government, in addition to the statement of Sanusi who confirmed the plot.

“Therefore, the call is for authorities to investigate the movement that is contrary to Section 124B and Section 124C of the Penal Code which covers activity detrimental to parliamentary democracy on the relevant individuals.

“The prime minister himself has repeatedly stated that he is open to being tested (validity) in Parliament and we have seen throughout the debate session (last year) that not a single motion was rejected or disapproved (due to a lack of majority support,” said PKR Youth in a statement.

“This activity was deliberately held to cause public mischief and chaos to bring down the government,” it added.

Sanusi, who is also PAS election director, had claimed that PN has “sufficient” SDs to unseat the coalition government.

The same claim was made by Raja Petra, although a review of his allegations and the documents he held aloft in a video found that some claims don’t hold up. – Malaysiakini
