Police detained another man on Sep 5 over the murder of Lance Corporal Valentino Mesa at the Pinggiran USJ police station on Aug 31.
Selangor Criminal Investigation Department chief SAC Fadzil Ahmad said the 35-year-old suspect from Kelantan, who worked for a courier company, was picked up in Subang Jaya at about 11.15pm.
“The suspect is being remanded for seven days until next Tuesday,” he said in a statement.
Valentino, 29, of Sarawak, was found dead at the enquiry counter of the police station at 3.25 am last Thursday.
A patrol unit that returned to the station found him lying prone at the counter where he had been on duty alone.
He was shot in the head at close range and was stabbed as well.
Prior to this, police arrested a 34-year-old factory worker from Sibu the next day to assist in the investigation. His remand order, which ends today, has been extended for another seven days.
