Former senator Datuk Ras Adiba Radzi and former Putrajaya Umno deputy chief Datuk Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz have officially joined Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu).
Malay daily Utusan Malaysia today reported that Ras Adiba and Tun Faisal received their membership certificates from Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin during the launch of Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) state election machinery for Negri Sembilan in Sikamat last night.
Explaining her decision, Ras Adiba said she had confidence in the party’s potential to fight for the welfare of those with disabilities.
“I believe that Bersatu is the party that we should actually support. The people are currently suffering and I, along with friends, will offer our support to them, especially the elderly and the disabled who really need it,” she said.

In May 2020, Ras Adiba was appointed senator to represent persons with disabilities in Dewan Negara.
Meanwhile, Tun Faisal said that he chose to join Bersatu due to shared principles revolving around religion, race, and nation.
“I am a person who believes in the jemaah. I believe in the importance of continuing the struggle that I have taken on all this time, which I shouldered with Umno, and that is the struggle of religion, race and country based on the struggle of Islam and the ummah.

“There has to be a political platform that represents what I am fighting for, and in this case, I believe that Bersatu and PAS are the best platforms to bring together what I am fighting for,” he said.
In January, Tun Faisal was sacked from Umno for being a vocal critic of Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
During last night’s event, Muhyiddin also received application forms to join Bersatu from former Negeri Sembilan PKR Women’s chief Azlimah Zamli and former Jelebu PKR chief Yus Mazmi Ahmad Yusof. – MMO
