Graphic artist and activist Fahmi Reza has been barred from holding a forum on democracy at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Shah Alam.
This is the second time his “Kelas Demokrasi” forum is being stopped after Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) halted his session on campus yesterday.
In a short clip shared on Twitter today, Fahmi was heard telling about 300 students that he was asked to stop the session.
“The auxiliary police said we need to disperse,” he said, with the crowd booing the authorities over the order.
However, in a subsequent tweet, Fahmi said the session would continue at a new location outside the campus.
The graphic artist, who has in the past been charged for his satirical art on politicians has been gaining attention for his “Kelas Demokrasi” forum.
The forum sees Fahmi sharing his knowledge on democracy so that the students can make informed decisions at the ballot box. – FMT
