Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin wants Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal to retract his claim that she wanted to rejoin Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia.

“This is not true. I only mentioned that I would support Perikatan Nasional in the coming state elections as I have always been for a multi-racial party, said the former Ampang MP.

Zuraida said she had never made any application to rejoin Bersatu.

“He (Wan Ahmad Fayhsal) better withdraw his statement. He has been a loose cannon all along,” she said when contacted on Wednesday (April 5).

Zuraida was responding to claims made by the Bersatu youth chief as quoted by an online news portal that the former Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) president wanted to rejoin Bersatu.

Wan Ahmad, who is Machang MP, claimed that Zuraida had applied to rejoin Bersatu after her failed attempt to take over the PBM leadership but her request was unanimously rejected by the party.

Zuraida was formerly with PKR but joined Bersatu in February 2020 and left in May 2022 after talk of her joining PBM.

However, Zuraida was sacked from PBM in December 2022 after a spat with party president Larry Sng.

On March 4, Zuraida , who is currently with Selangor Muafakat Nasional chief, said that she would support Perikatan and not Pakatan Harapan or Barisan Nasional in the coming state polls. – The Star
