PKR Youth vice-chairman Tan Kar Hing has called on Tian Chua to resign from his post as party vice-president.

Tan, who is Simpang Pulai assemblyman, said Chua had failed to defend the party and its spirit of reformation following the week-long political upheaval in the country.

“In this whole week, Chua chose to keep silent after being seen at Sheraton Petaling Jaya.

“I am not asking him to apologise but to step down as the party vice-president immediately,” Tan said on his Facebook page.

“He is no longer eligible to be called a reformist and part of the party’s struggle,” he added.

This followed a report in Free Malaysia Today (FMT) Saturday (Feb 29) stating that Chua asked Pakatan Harapan leaders to apologise to the people for the political uncertainty that was due to “personal greed and power play”.

Chua also said the “whole mess” would not have started had Pakatan leaders supported Dr Mahathir to rebuild the country.

According to Tan, the political mess in the country did not start on Sunday (Feb 23), but since Chua teamed up with former party deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali and his group much earlier on.

“There are no parties in the world that allow a senior party member to openly criticise party leader on implementing the party agenda.

“Chua has urged Pakatan leaders to apologise to Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin,” he said.

“Why has Chua never questioned Azmin and his group who caused the chaos in the country by openly challenging our party leader and wanting to form a backdoor and unity government?

“Pakatan has never pressured Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to resign, and it was he (Dr Mahathir) who did everything that complicated matters,” he added. – The Star
