Beruas MP Ngeh Koo Ham has declared the highest amount of assets to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
According to the asset declaration site, the DAP politician declared having RM75,816,184 and his monthly income is RM55,908.33.
Second highest on the list is Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad with accumulated assets worth RM32,357,900.
Ngeh had declared assets for himself, his wife, and his children, while Mahathir had declared for himself and his wife, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali.
Entrepreneur Development Minister Mohd Redzuan Yusof’s accumulated assets, along with his wife’s, were declared at RM23,075,000.
Deputy Housing and Local Government Minister Raja Kamarul Bahrin and his wife and children have cumulative assets of RM15,309,130.
Fourth highest on the list is Home Tan Sri Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, with cumulative declared assets of RM14,365,140.65 for himself and his wife.
The MACC will include a new section under the MACC Act with respect to declaration of assets belonging to MPs and ministers, which is likely to be tabled in Parliament in April.
Its chief commissioner Datuk Seri Shukri Abdull on Nov 2 said the new section would enable the MACC to take action against MPs or ministers who have failed to declare their assets. – The Sun
