Anime fans are indulging in their passion at the AniManGaki annual convention this weekend at the Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre.
One of the largest conventions of its kind in Malaysia, AniManGaki has been bringing together animation, comic and gaming enthusiasts of all ages since its debut in 2009.
The fun-filled experience showcases everything from the latest Japanese pop-culture to the superheroes of Western comics.
Highlights include cosplays, international guests, live concerts, exhibits, games, and competitions.
Some 100 exhibitors offer a plethora of animation, comics and games paraphernalia.
Among the sea of fans comprising mostly college students and young working adults, many are cosplayers in a variety of costumes.
This year’s special guests are Hong Kong-based performer and celebrity cosplayer Ying, American-Japanese singer Joelle Strother and Japanese composer, producer and DJ D Watt.
Ying is known for her portrayals of characters from anime series like Sword Art Online, Long Live! and Fate. The adept dancer was the champion of the HKEST-ASUS Cosplay Tournament in 2015.
The convention is open from 10am to 7pm.
