A 37-year-old Bangladeshi man, who is believed to have killed a woman, chopped her body into six pieces and packed them inside two luggage bags, earlier this month, has been remanded for seven days.
City police criminal investigation department chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Rusdi Mohd Isa said the man, believed to be the husband of the victim, was arrested at 2am in Johor on Jul 24.

Rusdi said he would be remanded until Aug 1.
On July 5, a homeless man had stumbled on two travel bags containing a woman’s dismembered body along Sungai Gombak, near Bestari Condominium.
It was later established that the victim was a 29-year-old Bangladeshi woman.

Last week, police released the photograph of Md Shahzada Saju and urged those who knew of his whereabouts to contact them.

It is learnt that the man and the victim had been renting a room on the fourth floor of a shophouse in Jalan Segambut and had argued and fought regularly.

A source close to the investigation team said the man and the victim were married and had children back in Bangladesh.
